My deepest sympathies in the loss of your loved one, Mrs. Harter. She was my teacher at LAHS and I enjoyed being in her class. My Aunt June (Klingensmith) was in her grade as they grew up, and they enjoyed going to reunions with their group. She asked me to contact Mrs. Harter since I live in Wash., PA, but Strabane Woods would not confirm nor deny her presence there. I left a note for her to call my aunt if she was able. I have prayed for her over the years, and pray that the Lord comforts you now that she's gone home to be with Him. Sending you much love, Cari Lee

Becky, so sorry to hear that your Mother had passed. She was surely one of the last "great teachers" at LUHS.

As a '61 graduate, I had Mrs. Harter for Plane G. and the Algebras. I wish I could say I overcame my math anxiety because of her. It was a struggle for me, but where would I have been without her challenges. She represented her profession without flaw, so relaxed in demeanor and technique. I see by her obit, she found time to contribute to her community in many ways, and lived a very full life. I send my condolences to her family.

Becky,
Between your mom and the Zargos, they made a great team as teachers and friends. Its a shame we both live in Upper Saint Clair and never run into each other.
Take care.

Becky & Tom, our deepest sympathies to you and the boys at the loss of such a cool lady. Your mom and dad both accepted all those crazy colonials and made everyone feel like family when we met her. May she rest in peace. Love Peggy & Jake

Becky and family, just wanted to send my condolences to you and your family. For some reason, my posting keeps posting before I hit enter. It was such a pleasure growing up next door to you all throughout my childhood. On another note, it was so nice seeing you at my 50th Class reunion along with Tom. Unfortunately, I am unable to come to the funeral home as I have a terrible case of some kind of flu like symptom. You are in my heart and prayers Becky. Love to you all. 🙏🙏❤️❤️

As a math teacher, Mrs. Harter was exceptional. I am not a math person and never was, however after 2 years with Mrs. Harter as my teacher, I scored higher in math than in verbal on my college boards. This had to be due to her teaching. I had the privilege of being her colleague also at LAHS. She was always first class. My deepest sympathy, Becky.

Mrs. Harter was always my favorite teacher. She made everything easy to understand, algebra, trig. And she always treated us with respect and caring. If I remember correctly, she was also a customer at my mom's store when I was working there. It was always a pleasure to see her. My sympathies to her family.

My Mom and yours went to college together. I remember Mom saying "Now you listen to her in class, or else!" Mom always had an or else! I enjoyed her algebra class!

Deepest sympathies to the family of Mrs. Harter. She was my favorite teacher. I just loved her wit and kindness. We celebrated her birthday in our Math Analysis class in our Senior year. We invited Mr. Waltenbaugh's class to join us. I bought a cake and we surprised her. It is one of my fondest memories of high school. Years later, my sons and I would run into her at the Rotary Club breakfast. We would sit with them and she would chat with my boys. What a wonderful lady! May God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Becky and family......your mother was the best teacher I ever had and one of the best women I ever met. But of course you all know what a great woman she was! Having lived in Weinels Crossroads and delivering the Valley News Dispatch and Post-Gazette for years to your parents, I was able to continue to see her after high school. I have often thought of her and I am sure she will be missed. You are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Harter's passing. As a teacher, Mrs. Harter was exceptional. As a person and friend, she was even more than that. Two teachers remained my friends through my adult life: Mrs. Harter and Miss Dora Boario. And I never called either by their first names! I loved and respected them. Becky, I know how proud she was to have you as her daughter. You were blessed to have her so many years! Love from Barbara Lange Staib, Coralville, IA.
