Roberta L. (Thompson) Vallino, 85, of Washington Twp., formerly of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A daughter of the late Leroy Thompson and Dorothy (Tippett) Thompson, she was born August 18, 1931 in Gilpin Township, PA, Armstrong County.

Roberta was retired from Kauffmann’s Dept. Store (Macy’s) in Monroeville in 2008 with over 40 years of service.  She worked previously at the Beaver Valley Mall.  Roberta was a 1951 graduate of Leechburg Area High School and of the Lutheran faith.  She enjoyed bowling and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.  Roberta was very dedicated towards her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Kevin P. Shea (Patricia) of Irwin, PA; a daughter, Teresa J. Smart of Monaca, PA; step-children, Robert Vallino, Janet Wolas, Kenneth Vallino and Kathy Roche; three grandchildren, Shawn Fossett, Joseph Smart, Luke Smart; a great-grandson, Julian Smart; two sisters, Dolores Freilino and Patricia Kennedy, both of Leechburg, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Vallino in June 2009 and Phillip J. Shea in July 2013; two brothers, James and John Thompson.

Funeral ceremonies will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with the Reverend James V. Arter III officiating.
