Paul J. Best Sr., 70, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on January 5, 2017 at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

A son of the late Charles Robert Best and Twila Marie (Rosenburger) Best, he was born June 29, 1946, in Gilpin Twp., Armstrong County, PA.

Paul was a member of the Leechburg Moose, Vandergrift VFW, Schenley American Legion and had worked as a metal cutter in a steel foundry.  He enjoyed driving around the area in his truck, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Paul J. Best Jr. of Leechburg, PA; a daughter, Twila Best of Butler, PA; three granddaughters; three brothers, Ronald Best of Gilpin Twp., PA, Larry Best (Linda) of Lower Burrell, PA, Roger Best of Kittanning Twp., PA; four sisters, Shirley Shaner of Gilpin Twp., PA, Martha Cooper of Kittanning Twp., PA, Donna B. Grafton (Eugene) of Gilpin Twp., PA, and Patricia Ann Best of Kittanning, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Eugene Best.

There will be no public visitation or funeral ceremonies.  The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) has been entrusted with arrangements.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
