Marietta (Roebuck) Walker, 87, of Washington Township, PA, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015.
Born June 9, 1928, in Vandergrift, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Henrietta (Harris) Roebuck, Sr.
Marietta was a 1947 graduate of Vandergrift High School and a member of the Second Baptist Church, Gilpin Township, PA, where she was the Treasurer and an Usher. She was employed as a clerk for 15 years with the former A&P Supermarket, Leechburg, PA, before retiring in 1979. Marietta was also employed as a clerk with the former Beighley's Market, Leechburg, PA. She was a member of the O.E.S. - Rosewood 77, Vandergrift, PA, as a Past Matron, and a member of ISIS - Sahara #9, Pittsburgh, PA. Marietta was a volunteer at the Primary Care, Leechburg, PA; enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and traveling; and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Nathaniel L. Walker (Faye D.), of New Kensington, PA; a daughter, Deborah Ann (Walker) Brown (Thomas), of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Simmons, Tiffany Jackson and Brittney S. Arnold; six great grandchildren, Jamison Simmons, Marlayna Simmons, Nathaniel Simmons, Christasia Burns, Zariah Arnold, and Xavier Joel Hall; a brother, Donald Roebuck, of Johnstown, PA; and a sister, Edith L. Roebuck, of Johnstown, PA; and a sister-in-law Hilda Roebuck, of Johnstown, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel "Nat" Walker, Jr., on January 6, 1999; three brothers, Richard A. Roebuck, James "Pete" Roebuck, William Roebuck, and a sister, Valjean Roebuck.
Visitation will be held by her family on Friday November 27, 2015 from 4-8 PM and Saturday November 28, 2015 from 10-11 AM followed by a homegoing service at Second Baptist Church, Route 66, Gilpin Township, officiated by the Rev.
