George F. Gollaz, 97, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, PA.
Born September 16, 1918, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Feffer) Gollaz.
George was employed for 15 years, as a Packer, for Rexall Drug Company, Pittsburgh, PA, and later working as an attendant with the former Dean W. Cline Funeral Home, Leechburg, PA. He also worked as a Baker Apprentice in Pittsburgh, PA. George was a member of Christ The King Parish, Gilpin Township, PA; and enjoyed walking and listening to sports. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
Survivors include a Niece and a Nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, John B. Gollaz; and sisters, Helen Beasley, Agnes Gollaz, Josephine Gollaz and Anna Gollaz.
Friends welcomed by his family on Wednesday from 7-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724/842-1051) where parting prayers of transfer will be held on Thursday at 9:15 AM followed by a Christian funeral mass at 10 AM at Christ The King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, PA, with his pastor, the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B., officiating. Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Township, PA.
