William J. Mundy Jr.

William J. Mundy Jr., 82, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, in his residence.

A son of the late William J. Mundy and Mary M. (Simon) Mundy, he was born July 14, 1940 in Leechburg, PA.

William had been employed as a roll setter by Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Bagdad for over 40 years before retiring in 2002.  He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.  William was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leechburg.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Donna M. (Lambie) Mundy of Gilpin Township; two sons, Jeff J. Mundy (Nikki) of Apollo, Todd W. Mundy of Ford City; four grandchildren, Dakota Mundy (Kristen), Will Mundy (Destiny), Taylor Cichello (Melissa), Nick Cichello; four great-grandchildren, Maleka, Liam, and Karson Mundy, and Clara Cichello; four sisters, Shirley Kiro of Gilpin Township, Barbara Locher of Apollo, Christine Safranyos (James) of Allegheny Township, Mary Ann Schaeffer (Larry) of Hyde Park; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christian Mundy; brother, Jerry Mundy, and two infant brothers, Robert and Edward Mundy.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with Pastor Jonathan Potter officiating.  Interment will be privately held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
