Walter A. Drozd, 76, of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 in his residence.
A son of the late Walter Drozd and Helen (Kroll) Drozd, he was born July 4, 1941 in Allegheny Twp., PA.
Walter was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War Era. He had been employed as a high lift operator with the Allegheny Twp. Road Dept. for 15 years. Walter was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp. and the National Insulator Club. He enjoyed hobbies with trains, cars, insulators and airplanes.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia (Berry) Drozd of Allegheny Twp., PA; two sons, Jason R. Drozd (Tiffany) of North Carolina and Walter S. Drozd (Christy Lamison) of Export, PA; a daughter, Melissa L. Anderson (Bill) of Delmont, PA; a granddaughter, Bonnie Marie Layne of Hillsboro, OH; two sisters, Christine Kosmalski and Loretta Ryznar, both of Niles, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Adele Lewandowski and Dolores Olterman.
Friends welcomed by his family on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, June 8, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Twp., with the Reverend James H. Loew, O.S.B., celebrant, and Reverend Michael J. Sciberras, concelebrant. Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp.
