Vonnie (Ankeny) Ferretti, 76, of Leechburg, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 with her family by her side.

The daughter of the late Eugene Ankeny and Helen (Lookabaugh) Ankeny, she was born on November 12, 1946 in New Kensington, PA.

Vonnie enjoyed spending time with her family – “The Dream Team”, especially her two granddaughters.  A dedicated volunteer, she could be found at most Leechburg activities.  In the summer, she was always found at the Leechburg Area Pool.  She was employed as a teacher’s aide for the Freeport Area School District for many years.  She also worked as a surgical technician at the Podiatry Hospital in Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. Vonnie was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township, several Leechburg Area School District organizations including the PTA, Music Boosters, and Mothers’ Club, and the Leechburg Shade Tree Commission.

Vonnie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Ferretti; a daughter, Michelle L. Ferretti (Brian); a son, Michael D. Ferretti, all of Leechburg; two granddaughters, Ava Ferretti and Chloe Brown; numerous nieces and nephews, and Rudy her granddog.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Ankeny, and an infant son, Mark Ferretti.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 5-7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. John Euker as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
