Ufemio A. “Fem” Biagioni, 102, of Leechburg, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.
A son of the late Angelo Biagioni and Nella A. (Cecchi) Biagioni, he was born June 11, 1921 in San Romano, Italy.
Fem served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Boise Cruser during World War II. He was a self-employed owner/operator of Fem’s Beer Distributing in Leechburg for 25 years before retiring in 1981. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was proud to have his name inscribed on the wall at Ellis Island in New York. Fem was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 330 of Leechburg. He was also a member of several other Leechburg organizations, including the Lions Club, Marconi Club, Moose Lodge 102 and the Shade Tree Commission.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Zimmerman (Timothy) of Leechburg; six grandchildren, Nadine Stevens (David), Dennis J. Best II (Alisa), Jolene Thompson (Mitch), Dr. Mandy Zimmerman, Crissy Zimmerman (Eli Puskar), Mike Zimmerman (Megan Paglialunga); six great-grandchildren, David and Lilly Stevens, Wyatt and Hunter Best, Gunnison and Luca Thompson; and a brother, Albert Biagioni of Allegheny Township.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Rose M. (Gorelli) Biagioni in 2012; a daughter, Carol Best in 2017; and a brother, Gino Biagioni.
All private arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.
