Terry Wayne Young, 79, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, in his home.

A son of the late William “Bill” B. Young and Nellie (Jones) Young, he was born on September 7, 1945, in Natrona Heights, PA.

Terry grew up and lived almost his entire life in Leechburg.  His pride in the town was evident as he was employed at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in West Leechburg for over 35 years before retiring as a manager of the store house in 2002.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  Terry was a member of the community as he belonged to Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg, the Apollo Elks Lodge, and the Leechburg Moose.  He enjoyed golfing, antiquing with his wife, and being an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams.  Terry will be remembered for his off-beat sense of humor, which brought laughter to all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Martha E. (Fryer) Young of Gilpin Township; his daughter, Jeanine M. Franciscus (John) of Oakmont;  his son, Terry Wayne Young (Megan) of Germantown, MD; his stepson, Ethan Patrick Burgess (Jody) of Queensbury, NY; his six grandchildren: Hayden, William, Julia, Max, Benjamin, Lainey; two step-grandsons: Liam and Evan; sister-in-law, Margaret Young of Cabot; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Edwin Young; sisters, Marcelyn Wilson and Gwendolyn Stivenson; brothers-in-law, Tom Wilson and Walter Stivenson.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the time of funeral ceremonies, at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with Cam Malcolm officiating.  Private interment will be made at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St., Leechburg, PA 15656, Phone: 724-845-1901, Email: church@crcpc.org are appreciated.
