Susan E. (Camp) Brown, 61, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in her residence.
A daughter of the late Charles G. Camp and Shirley J. (Smail) Camp of Gilpin Township, she was born January 20, 1960, in Natrona Heights.
Susan graduated from Leechburg High School in 1977, and Clarion University with a degree in English Education in 1981. For 30 years, she taught middle school English at Webster Springs Middle School in West Virginia. Susan was very active in her church and community. She was a member of Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg, where she was a part of the WELCA Women’s group, serving as treasurer in the past. Susan served as Vice-Chairman for the Gilpin Township Board of Supervisors. She attended the local high school musical every year, and also loved to bake in her spare time.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Kathryn Klingensmith (Teddy) of West Virginia, Jean Stull of Gilpin Township; an aunt, Carolyn Smail of Gilpin Township; two nephews, Allan Stull of Leechburg, Charles Stull (Taylor) of Gilpin Township; three nieces, Jessica Deal (Bob) of Charleston, WV, Lisa Goodwin (Gary) of Charleston, WV, Brandy Camp of Ravenswood, WV; two great-nephews, Charles Allan Russell Stull of Leechburg, Gavin Goodwin of Charleston, WV; her dog, Snickers; and many other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Friends will be welcomed by her family on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. at Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 Main Street, Leechburg, followed immediately by funeral ceremonies at 3 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Pusch officiating. All visitors are asked to respectfully follow current state guidelines of required masks/face coverings, social distancing and gathering restrictions. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s name may be made to the Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg; or to the Gilpin Township K-9 Fund, C/O Gilpin Township, 589 Route 66 Leechburg, PA 15656; and to the Leechburg Pink Day fund.
