Stella Louise (Grosso) Chero, 82, of Leechburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Pleasant Ridge Nursing Facility in Allegheny Township.

A daughter of the late Joseph Grosso and Josephine (Ottina) Grosso, she was born July 13, 1941 in New Kensington, PA.

Stella was a 1959 graduate of Leechburg High School.  Then continued her education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education and Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling.  She was a homemaker who also worked as a home economics teacher and guidance counselor for Apollo High School. Stella was a very active member of Christ The King Church in Gilpin Township and the former St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg.  She enjoyed traveling and antiquing.

Survivors include her son, Michael J. Chero of Marienville; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Chero; and her daughter, Gabrielle A. Wytiaz.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from Noon-4 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Private interment will be held at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
