Obituary
Shirley L. (Black) Cannon, 84, of Apollo, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.
A daughter of the late Melvin Black and Olive (Harmon) Black, she was born January 2, 1939 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, PA.
Shirley was a homemaker who also worked as a seamstress for Hills Brothers Upholstery in Cleveland, Ohio for 18 years before retiring in 1980.
Survivors include her daughters, Sheryl Matson of Youngwood and Janet Bregar of South Euclid, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Black of Allegheny Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Leland L. Cannon in 1999; a son, Glenn Cannon; sons-in-law, Michael Matson and Dennis Bregar; sister-in-law, Naomi Black; and a sister in infancy.
Friends will be welcomed by her family on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 3 p.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies beginning at 6 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
