Sara Marie (Smith) Voyten 102, of Parks Township, PA, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Pine View Personal Care in Parks Township.
A daughter of the late Merle W. Smith and Eula V. (Chestnut) Smith, she was born on February 21, 1922, in Kittanning, PA.
Sara was a homemaker and member of Christ The King Parish in Gilpin Township, and the former St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg. She volunteered with the Gilpin Township Fire Dept., as well as being a member of their auxiliary. Sara enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, playing bingo, visiting casinos in Atlantic City and Niagara Falls, and walking with her friends and family members.
Survivors include her sons, A. Gary Voyten (Marina) of Benton, Raymond T. Voyten (Carol) of Gilpin Township, David A. Voyten of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, James Smith (Nancy) of South Carolina; sisters, Patty Toy of Ford City, Dolores Walters of Squirrel Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Andrew P. Voyten in 2009; a son, Paul V. Voyten (Marlene); a daughter, Christy M. Wofford; a granddaughter, Erica Reardon; brothers, Edward, Robert and Donald Smith; sisters, Mary Jean Daugherty, Wanda Morabito (Fred), Lois Petrarca (Dominic), Betty Potter.
Friends will be welcomed by her family on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the time of a Blessing service beginning at Noon at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with the Rev. Michael J. Sciberras officiating. Interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
