Ruth Evelyn (Lyons) Boarts, 99, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 in Lower Burrell.

A daughter of the late Brown A. Lyons and Lavada (Adams) Lyons, she was born August 5, 1922, in Leechburg.

Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Freeport High School. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leechburg, where she participated in the ladies fellowship group. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a very happy family life.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Boarts of Hubbard, OH, Larry Boarts (Carol) of Leechburg; six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Lyons of Saltsburg; and a sister, Edith Lyons of Lower Burrell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lee Boarts in 2009; and two sisters, Mildred Fouse and Grace Slifko.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) where funeral ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, with Pastor Jonathan Potter officiating.  Entombment will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum in Lower Burrell.
