Rose Kuniak Obituary

Rose Marie (Chovanes) Kuniak, 70, of Saxonburg, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020.

Born March 30, 1950 in New Kensington, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Mary (Stano) Chovanes.

Rose was a 1968 graduate of Leechburg Area High School and the New Kensington Commercial School.  She was employed in Customer Service Department of Allegheny Technology Institute (formerly Allegheny Ludlum) and retired after 37 years of service.

Rose always greeted people with a smile and kind words.  She loved adventure, exploring the flea market circuit, and going to camp.  In the fall, her favorite time of year, she enjoyed the changing leaves and watching the elk in Benezette and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Association.  She was avid fan of anything Disney.

Rose was a very caring person who loved helping others and giving of her time whenever she could.  As a former member and officer of the Tarentum Eagles Auxiliary, she enjoyed working in the kitchen and volunteering in any way she could help.  She also loved cats and dogs; particularly her dogs Cuddles and Pudgie and her cat Patch.

She is survived by her loving family: sister Patti (Don) Marco, nieces Maria Marco (Johan Leveau), and Christina Hosler (BJ), nephew Adam Marco (Brienne), and great-nephews Sam Leveau, Cody Leveau, Marco Hosler, and great-niece Mary Hosler, and many very dear cousins.  She is also survived by close friends Stanley Knox, Debbie Dickson, and Pam Mason.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Kuniak.
