Rosa Leah Bonello, 95, formerly of Leechburg, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Concordia of Cabot.

A daughter of the late Joseph M. Bonello Jr. and Louise B. Bonello, she was born February 10, 1928 in Leechburg, PA.

Leah was a 1946 graduate of Leechburg High School and had attended college for two years.  As a lifelong resident of River Avenue in Leechburg until recently, she had been co-owner of the “Bonello Restaurant and Deli” for over 50 years until retiring in 1997.  She enjoyed playing Bocci and bowling and was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township, the Marconi Club Auxiliary and the club’s Bocci team, and the Leechburg Ladies’ Bowling League. 

Survivors include her brother, Fred L. Bonello (Deborah) of Kittanning; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bonello of Gilpin Township; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. James D. Bonello and Bartholomew J. Bonello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 125 Park Road in Gilpin Township with the Rev. Michael J. Sciberras as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.
