Ronald Blair Matson, 69, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Concordia at Cabot.

A son of the late Blair Matson and Frances (Waltenbaugh) Matson, he was born June 27, 1953 in New Kensington, PA.

Ronald had been employed as a draftsman by Benshaw in RIDC Park before retiring in 2018.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and hanging out with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of nine years, Patricia Matson of Gilpin Township; two sons, Charles Matson (Raina) of Adrian, Jason Matson of Freeport; stepson, Jacob Ronian (Tara) of Schenley; stepdaughter, Chelsey Ripple (Chris) of Sarver; six grandchildren, Alan, Nevan, Aaron, Aiden, Makayla, Landon; step-grandsons, Emerson and Jensen; sisters, Patricia Wilmot (Michael) of Apollo, Cynthia Moyer (Dean) of Leechburg, Christina Stewart (Joel) of Kirtland, OH; brother-in-law, Dale Altman of Leechburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Matson; and sister, Nancy Altman.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051 where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, with the Rev. James V. Arter III officiating.  Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
