Peter M. Pinto

Peter M. "Pete" Pinto, 71, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A son of the late Michael Pinto and Anna (Lukac) Pinto, Pete was a life-long resident of the Leechburg area.  After graduating from Leechburg Area High School in 1966 and Penn State in 1970, he spent his entire teaching career with the Leechburg Area School District.  Always conscious of community welfare, he volunteered his time and energy to the Gilpin Township Municipal Authority for 40 years and the Kiski Valley Water Pollution Control Authority for 30 years.  He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and fixing things in the driveway.

He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all those who survive him, including his wife Marie (Pfeil) Pinto, daughter Elaine Ruminski (Andrew), son Peter Pinto (Kathryn), grandchildren Ellie and Peter Mitchell Pinto.  Pete will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township.
