Paul F. Kolenchak, 83, of Leechburg, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.
A son of the late John Kolenchak and Annie M. (Segorek) Kolenchak, he was born January 27, 1939 in Gilpin Township (Banfield), PA.
Paul had been employed by Groves Service Station in Leechburg, then served in the U.S. Air Force, followed by working as a payroll analyst for Allegheny Ludlum Steel until his retirement in 1995. He was a founding member of the Lower Kiski Ambulance serving on the Board of Directors and as a past treasurer. Paul was also a member of Allegheny Ludlum Local 1138 (Pensioners Club) and Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township. He volunteered at the Leechburg Recycling Center for 20 years and also the Leechburg Food Bank. Paul enjoyed going camping, reading the newspaper, and watching sports (especially Penn State).
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Virginia A. (Klanica) Kolenchak of Leechburg; a son, Joseph Kolenchak of Monroeville; a daughter, Mary Ann Kolenchak of Boynton Beach, FL; a granddaughter, Sarah Kolenchak of Boynton Beach, FL; two sisters, Catherine Pinker of Allegheny Twp., Pauline Clowes (George) of Cabot, Arkansas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and John Kolenchak; and four sisters, Veronica Zeigler, Josephine Pinella, Cecelia Christopher, Mary Miskinis.
The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, has been entrusted with private family arrangements, including interment at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
