Patricia (Shick) Potter Obituary

Patricia (Shick) Potter, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 8, 1945, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Patricia was a 1963 graduate of Kittanning High School.  She was the daughter of the late Frank Shick and Ruth (McCaslin) Miller, stepdaughter of the late Daniel Miller, and sister of the late David Shick.

Patricia’s greatest joy in life was her family.  She loved deeply, gave generously, and always placed the needs of those she loved ahead of her own.  She shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, James.  Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, rambunctious dogs, and unwavering support for their children and grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, James: her children, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Potter, Brian (Darlene) Potter, Gregg (Debbie) Potter, and Michelle (Matthew) Keating.  She was a proud and devoted Nana to eight cherished grandchildren- Haley, Katelyn, Hannah, Patrick, Cameron, Jack, Carson, and Caleb- as well as five step-grandchildren, Nicole, Sydney, Madyson, Maria, and Steven.  Nothing brought Patricia greater happiness than spending time with her family, vacationing at Myrtle Beach, celebrating life’s milestones, and creating treasured memories together.

Patricia also treasured the gift of friendship.  She was blessed with a close-knit circle of friends who became like family.  Whether gathered for holiday celebrations, enjoying beach vacations, sharing dinners, or simply spending time together, those friendships filled her life with laughter, love, and countless unforgettable memories.

Professionally, Patricia served as secretary at Graystone Presbyterian Church before spending much of her career as a legal secretary for Robert Cinpinski, Esq., and later with Reed Smith in downtown Pittsburgh.  She approached her work with dedication, professionalism, and kindness.

Her faith was the foundation of her life.  Patricia faithfully served her church as a Ruling Elder and through numerous terms as Clerk of Sessions at Graystone Presbyterian Church and later Crossroads Presbyterian Church.  She also devoted twelve years to serving her community as a member of the Leechburg Area School Board.  Her heart for serving others extended beyond her community through mission trips, where she formed lasting friendships while sharing Christ’s love with those she met.

Patricia will be remembered for her gracious spirit, unwavering faith, generous heart, and the genuine love she showed to everyone fortunate enough to know her.  Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friends she embraced and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and service.

Family and friends will be received on Friday., July 24, 2026, from 2-6 p.m. at Clawson Funeral and Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  A funeral service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held at Crossroads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main Street, Leechburg, PA, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Outreach Ministry at Crossroads Community Presbyterian Church.
