Nino James Trunzo Obituary

Nino James Trunzo, 101, of Leechburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.


A son of the late Joseph and Giovanina (Ciambala) Trunzo, he was born on March 23, 1924.


Nino was a World War II veteran.  He was employed at Allegheny Ludlum and Ravotti Ford. He was a member of Christ the King Parish.  Nino enjoyed family vacations and spending time with his family, as well as watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.


He is survived by his four children, James V. Trunzo (Kathy) of North Carolina, Thomas A. Trunzo (Mary Louise) of Saltsburg, Denise C. Johnson (Alan) of Georgia and Maria T. Teagarden (Sam) of Gilpin Township; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with one great-grandson due in November; a sister, Edith (Trunzo) Detman of Apollo.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Sadie (Ravotti) Trunzo; brothers, Frank and Joseph; sisters, Lil Barainck, Jean Maradei and Mary Bisaha.


Friends will be welcomed by his family on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Private funeral ceremonies will be held with interment at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
