Miller Lee "Nick" Niksic, 81, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and retired U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the VA Community Living Center, in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Born on August 23, 1944, in Leechburg, Pennsylvania, to Miller Niksic and Hazel Mae Turner Niksic, Nick grew up with a strong sense of duty and commitment that would define his life. He proudly served his country for 30 years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant. As a highly skilled Loadmaster onboard multiple airframes throughout his military career, Nick played an integral role in ensuring the success of countless missions. His service exemplified honor and dedication to his nation.

Nick worked as a Spectrochemical Analyst at Allegheny Ludlum Steel (ATI) at the Natrona Heights Technical Center, where he was known for his precision, reliability, and commitment to excellence until his retirement.

Nick was a man of many passions. He found joy in jogging along Siesta Key Beach, metal-detecting for hidden treasures, and taking daily walks that kept him connected to nature and his surroundings. These hobbies brought him peace and fulfillment throughout his life.

A man of faith, Nick was a member of Allegheny Presbyterian Church in Leechburg, Pennsylvania. His connection to the church community provided him with spiritual grounding and fellowship.

Nick cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his son Stephen C. Niksic (Amanda) of Leechburg; three daughters: Vicki Guzzo (Anthony) of Ford City, Leslie Roth of Scotland, and Dawn Serakowski (Daniel) of Leechburg; five grandchildren: Kierra Hess (Alex), Kylie, Aiden, Kamdyn, and Kinsley; and two great-grandchildren: Xander and Maizey. His love for them was unwavering and evident in every aspect of his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved partner of 42 years, Geraldine “Geri” Murphy; his sister Hazel Flowers; and his parents Miller Niksic and Hazel Mae Turner Niksic. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Nick’s legacy is one of service, love for family, and an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. May those who knew him find comfort in their memories of him.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Tues., July 14, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clawson Funeral and Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., July 15, at the funeral home. Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Rd., Lower Burrell.
