Mildred R. (Smail) Hoch, 92, of Leechburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Concordia of Cabot.

A daughter of the late Albert S. Smail and Helen (Rose) Smail, she was born July 27, 1930 in Allegheny Township (Gosser Hill), PA.

Mildred was a homemaker and of the Lutheran faith.  She enjoyed bowling, quilting, being active in church, and spending time with her friends.

Survivors include her son, Dean Hoch (Deborah) of Vandergrift, three grandchildren, Katherine Philipps (Brad), Bryce Hoch (Danielle), Stephen Hoch; four great-grandchildren, Rylie Hoch, Wyatt Hoch, Gracie Hoch, Marshall Hoch; brother, Earl Smail (Velma) of Allegheny Township; a sister-in-law, Rena Smail of Raleigh, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore K. Hoch in 1994; a son, Jeff Hoch in 2015; two brothers, Robert and James Smail; and a sister, Alberta “Shorty” McElroy.

Mildred’s family would like to thank the staff of Concordia and Good Samaritan Hospice (Oertel Building) for their wonderful care.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies at 12 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with Pastor Ryan Pusch officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Rd., Lower Burrell.
