Words cannot convey the depth of loss we felt trying to write this…so in true Matt fashion, he wrote some of these words himself to take care of us one last time.

Matthew David Boarts, 37, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away unexpectedly due to some recent illnesses on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A son of Larry Boarts and Carol (Sinka) Boarts, he was born on December 4, 1987, in New Kensington, PA.

Matthew had a way of bringing a smile to everyone’s face.  Everybody loved Matt!  He was handsome, smart, hard-working, passionate, trustworthy, and above all else, unbelievably loyal.  Matthew was employed as an interventional radiology tech where he ran OR hybrid rooms, trained staff, and assisted in surgery.  He had unlimited talents and passions—among them drawing, research studies, and playing drums and guitar in the past for his band.  But the love of his life and his “everything” was wife, Lori Richter, whom he spent every day with for the last 13 years.

Survivors include his parents of Leechburg; his wife of Pittsburgh; a brother, Joseph Boarts (Sarah) of Pensacola, FL; a sister, Sarah Boarts of Pittsburgh; a nephew, Oliver Boarts of Pensacola, FL; an uncle, Ronald Boarts of East Liverpool, OH; many cousins, one with which he had a special bond, his cousin, Ricky.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Chester and Ruth (Lyons) Boarts; and his maternal grandparents, Steve and Sophia Sinka.

Visitation will be private for his family at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.  Private interment will be made at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Matthew are preferred to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org); or to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org}; or to plant a memorial tree.
