Mary M. (Altman) Shearer

Mary M. (Altman) Shearer, 92, of Allegheny Township, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, in her residence.

A daughter of the late James Altman and Mabel (Stitt) Altman, she was born December 24, 1929 in Gilpin Township, PA.

Mary was a graduate of Leechburg Area High School and a member of Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was after work, or during the many hours she fulfilled working in the family’s business of Shearer’s Garage in Allegheny Township.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Howard “Barney” Shearer of Allegheny Township; her son, Robert Shearer of Gilpin Township; two grandsons, Daniel Shearer (Melissa) and Robert Shearer (Rebecca); two great-grandsons, Noah and Vance Shearer; and a brother, John Altman of Gilpin Township.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dave, Sam, Paul and Frank Altman.
