Marie M. (Adamcik) Linkes, 93, of West Leechburg, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Pennwood Nursing Home in Wilkinsburg.
Daughter of the late Paul and Susan (Lizik) Adamcik, she was born October 17, 1929, in East Vandergrift, PA. Before her marriage, Marie worked at Alcoa in New Kensington, and later at the Mastarone Mushroom Farm in West Leechburg. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Lower Burrell, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA) branch #262, and a long-time member of the West Leechburg Firemen’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching TV, doing her beloved word search puzzles, and making cross-stitch creations for her friends and family.
Besides her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester, her daughters, Nancy E. (John) Bodner and Mary Susan, and her son, Ronald. Survivors include her son-in-law, Dr. John Bodner and grandson, Philip Bodner, of Libertyville, Illinois.
Per Marie’s request, there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Blessing service and entombment to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lower Burrell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to St. Margaret Mary Church, 3055 Leechburg Rd., Lower Burrell, PA 15068.
