Marian Louise (Hansen) Huska

Marian Louise (Hansen) Huska, 82, of Hyde Park, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.

A daughter of the late Roy Hansen and Stella (Wateska) Hansen, she was born September 2, 1939, in Vandergrift.

Marian was a 1957 graduate of Vandergrift High School.  She was retired from the Kiski Area School District as a sweeper on the custodial staff.  She had also worked as a nurse’s aid at numerous nursing homes in the local area.  Marian was “smart as a wit” and everybody’s friend.  She would send cards to everybody she knew for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.  She was an excellent cook, especially with ethnic foods like Polish and Slovak dishes.  Nobody left her house hungry.  Marian enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play, and listening to polka and country music.  She also liked listening to her police scanner and the wind chimes on her back porch.  She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.  She had a special kindness for dogs as well.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Huska of North Apollo, Daniel Huska (Dana) of Harrison Township; a grandson, Andrew Huska (Stephanie) of Sharpsville; a granddaughter, Shawna Varrato (Adam) of South Leechburg; a sister, Bernadette Cunningham of Euphrata; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Huska in March 2020; a sister, Norma Pettigrew; a brother, Richard Hansen; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Huska; and her dog, Skipper.

Arrangements are all private and have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  Private interment will be made at the convenience of her family.
