Leon M. Klingensmith, 80, of Parks Township, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.

A son of the late Leon James Klingensmith and Roberta Vernie (Morgan) Klingensmith, he was born January 15, 1943 in Leechburg, PA.

Leon had been employed as a foreman by Stanford Home Centers in Apollo, Allegheny Township, and Monroeville throughout his career spanning over 20 years until he retired in 2000.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leechburg.   Leon enjoyed carpentry, showing his cars at car shows, and working on anything motorized.

Survivors include his son, Richard L. Klingensmith (Loriel) of Vandergrift; a granddaughter, Kayle McCormick (Bryan) of Monroeville; and a sister, Jean Shellhammer of Spring Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Anna B. (Cane) Klingensmith in April 2023; a brother, Richard Lee Klingensmith; sisters, Geraldine Wilds and Marge Lingenfelter.

His family has entrusted the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with private arrangements.  Interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leon may be made to the First Baptist Church, 111 Siberian Ave., Leechburg, PA 15656; or to the Parkinson Foundation Western PA, 100 South Commons, Suite 102, PO Box 6760, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
