Kaaren (George) Kasanicky, 82, of Worthington, PA, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Canterbury Family Hospice in Pittsburgh.

A daughter of the late Fred Vincent George and Agnes M. (Ziola) McClafferty, she was born on July 16, 1943, in Leechburg, PA.

Kaaren was a 1961 graduate of Leechburg Area High School.  She had been employed as a secretary by Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Bagdad for 32 years before retiring.  She had also worked for Howard Hanna Real Estate for 16 years.  Kaaren was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport.  She enjoyed gardening, animals and camping.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert L. Kasanicky of Worthington; a daughter, Heidi Cole (Michael) of Worthington; a step-daughter, Megan Haugen (James) of Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Wednesday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, where a Blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating.  Private interment will follow at Slate Lick Cemetery in South Buffalo Township.
