John H. Shaner Jr., 75, of Lower Burrell, went home to the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2022, in his residence.

A son of the late John H. Shaner Sr. and Martha (Cline) Shaner, he was born September 25, 1946 in Gilpin Township, PA.

John was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War.  He had been employed as a contour grinder by Ultra Precision in Freeport for most of his career before retirement.  He was of the Protestant faith.  John enjoyed working on cars, fishing, hunting and spending time at his camp in Sinnamahoning.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Linda (Negley) Shaner of Lower Burrell; four sons, John H. Shaner III (Torie) of Leechburg, Michael Shaner of Lower Burrell, Richard Shaner (Wendy) of Leechburg, Scott Shaner of Lower Burrell; three grandchildren, Nathan, Keenan and Evelyn Shaner; a sister, Emma Montgomery of Sharon; a sister-in-law, Patricia Negley of Lower Burrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Suzanne Spaniel and Carol Walker.

The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051 has been entrusted with private arrangements.  Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
