John P. Pisarek, 78, of West Leechburg, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, in his residence.

A son of the late Alexander Pisarek and Rachel E. (Berci) Pisarek, he was born May 15, 1947, in Germany.

For over 50 years, John was a minister and Bible teacher, who was also employed as an adjunct professor at Penn State.  He wrote teacher feature articles in the Tribune newspaper.  John enjoyed teaching and preaching the Bible, the ocean, music, playing his harmonica, and spending time with his family and church friends.

His much-loved family includes his wife of 55 years, Janet H. (Cooper) Pisarek of West Leechburg; two daughters, Rachel Pisarek (Christie Smouse) of Greensburg, Krista Metnick of Gibsonia; his one and only special granddaughter, Alivia Metnick; a brother, Peter P. Pisarek of Apollo; a sister, Anne Marie Alexander (Donald) of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral Home, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, at the Union Baptist Church, 475 Church Road, Kittanning (Cadogan area).  Private interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Township.
