John W. Maher Obituary
John W. Maher, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away August 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Tudy Maher; daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Jeff Clark, Kim and Mike Bottles, Pam and Jim Levier, and TJ and Beth Snyder; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Lee Wolverton.
John was the son of the late Jerome and Rose Maher of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, and the brother of Ann Springman, and brother-in-law of the late Matt Springman of Dunnellon, Florida.
John attended Leechburg High School and graduated from St. Vincent Prep Class of 1959. John also attended the University of Dayton. He served his community as a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper before retiring, later working as Traffic Manager for Freeport Transport, and serving as Owner and President of J&J Trucking.
John’s passions extended beyond work—he was a dedicated member and former president of the Corvette Club of Western Pennsylvania, as well as a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed racing, traveling, and exploring new technologies through his interest in computers.
John’s warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Apollo Free Methodist Church, 1027 Route 56 E, Apollo, PA 15613.
