Jewell Lorainne Wright, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026.

Jewell was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Willa Mae and Julius Wright. She grew up in North Vandergrift, where from an early age, she showed dedication, perseverance, and a desire to serve others.

After high school, Jewell studied at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. She became a Pennsylvania Board-Certified Pharmacist in 1954. She later earned Board Certification in the state of New Jersey in 1973. Jewell devoted decades to her profession, working as a pharmacist until her retirement in the 1990s. She was known for her commitment and professionalism.

Jewell’s life was deeply rooted in her faith. She treasured her church family. Kiski Valley Community Church held a special place in her heart and was truly like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willa Mae and Julius Wright; her brother, Richard Wright; and her sister, Clara Booker.

Jewell leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving nieces and nephews, along with extended family, church family, and friends who will remember her for her strong faith, service to others, and gentle spirit.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Private interment will be held at Vandergrift Cemetery in Allegheny Township.
