Janice M. (Harwick) Ament Janus, 49, of New Kensington, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Canonsburg General Hospital.
A daughter of the late John Michael Harwick and Rita (Klingensmith) Harwick Bednas, she was born August 14, 1971, in Dothan, Alabama.
Janice was a homemaker who created homemade soaps, lotions, jewelry and other crafts. She also enjoyed camping and traveling, especially going to Chicago. She was a member of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and founded the Pulmonary Hypertension 5K Walk in Pittsburgh.
Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Gerald J. Janus Jr. of New Kensington; two stepsons, Andrew Ament of California and Kyle Janus of Chicago, IL; a stepbrother, Brandon Cigana of Whitehall, NY; three sisters, Maggie M. Ament (Lenny) of Natrona Heights, Ashley Karger (John) of Cranberry, Kylee Cigana of Cranberry; stepfather and stepmother, Richard and Kathy Bednas of New Kensington; and a niece, Diana Ament of Natrona Heights.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Harwick.
The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) is assisting the family with private funeral ceremonies to be held at a later date.
