Jana Lee (DeWitt) Riggle

Jana L. (DeWitt) Riggle, 84, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at UPMC-St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born December 1, 1939, in Leechburg, to the late Nelson and Helen (Altman) DeWitt.

Jana was a 1957 graduate of Leechburg High School.  She was a member of the Forks Zion Lutheran Church and former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and former member of the Gilpin Township Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Jana is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years (8/14/64), Kenneth Riggle; two daughters, Karen Sterner (Brian) and Carrie Riggle (Edward); grandsons, Michael and Daniel Sterner, Brandon Kennedy; and a brother, John “Ed” DeWitt.

She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James DeWitt.

Jana enjoyed reading, television, day trips, family gatherings, and watching her kids and grandkids in all their school and college activities.

There will be no public visitation.  The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, has been entrusted with private arrangements.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Forks Zion Lutheran Church, 253 Forks Church Road, Leechburg, PA 15656.
