Obituary
Irene J. (Kostka) Toman, 98, of Allegheny Township, formerly of West Leechburg, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.
A daughter of the late Jacob Kostka and Mary Kostka, she was born April 10, 1925 in East Vandergrift, PA.
Irene was a homemaker who enjoyed flowers and gardening, baking pies, and had a sweet tooth for candy. She was a member of Christ The King Church in Gilpin Township and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (St. Mary’s #262) in East Vandergrift.
Survivors include her sons, Paul F. Toman Jr. (Susanne) of Washington Township and David J. Toman (Donna) of Allegheny Township; grandchildren, Cara and Kevin Toman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul F. Toman Sr. in 2011; a brother, John Kostka; and sisters, Ann Thompson, Lillian Kostka and Mary Pratkanis.
Friends and family are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Christ The King Church, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. as celebrant. Private interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township. The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051 has been entrusted with arrangements.
