Helen E. (Bopp) Shaffer, 102, of Allegheny Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026.

A daughter of the late John Franklin Bopp and Nancy Rebecca (Shaner) Bopp, she was born September 14, 1923, in Leechburg, PA.

Helen was a 1941 graduate of Leechburg High School.  She was a lifelong member of Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg.  During her career, she was a trusted bookkeeper for numerous businesses throughout the valley. Helen enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, animals, nature and the outdoors, along with reading and solving word search puzzles.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Carl J. Shaffer of Allegheny Township, Doris Hughan (Paul) of Allegheny Township, Janet Nichols of Natrona Heights; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Oral Kenneth Shaffer in 1979; and siblings, John Bopp, Nancy Lingenfelter, and Mildred Smail.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Private interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Township.
