Helen (Rimkunas) Madarasz

Helen (Rimkunas) Madarasz, 101, of Leechburg, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Heritage Meadows in Kittanning.

A daughter of the late Anthony Rimkunas and Pearl (Sabuta) Rimkunas, she was born May 27, 1921 in Leechburg, PA.

Helen had been employed as an insurance clerk with Allegheny Ludlum Steel for 30 years before retirement.  She was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Forester (Tom) of Ford City; son-in-law, Lawrence Linkes of Leechburg; stepdaughters, Marcia Lucas of Leechburg, Janet Makowski of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Brian Forester (Patty), Mark Forester, Megan Haugen (James); stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Makowski, Mark Makowski, Michael Lucas; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Chester Zduniak, John Mozdir and Frank Madarasz; a daughter, Debbie Linkes; and sisters, Agnes Medice, Margaret Depanicis.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.  The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051 has been entrusted with arrangements.
