Hazel V. Myers, 100, formerly of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the late Robert Lee Beck and Susie Belle (Heckman) Beck, she was born March 16, 1920, in Ford City.
Hazel was a resident of Concordia Personal Care in Cabot for the last year. Previously, she lived for over 20 years in Leechburg and for nearly 60 years on a farm in Gilpin Township. She was a long-time member of Forks Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Gilpin Township where she was active for many years as a Sunday school teacher and primary superintendent. Hazel had a way with plants that produced a prolific vegetable garden, flowers and house plants. She was also adept with needlework, and enjoyed listening to music, reading, traveling, and corresponding with friends and relatives.
Survivors include her two sons, Roy Earl Myers (Linda) of Latrobe and David A. Myers (Sharon) of Miami, FL; two daughters, Jean Woods of Shelocta and Judy Fedosick (Richard) of Renfrew. She had 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, who were all very important to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 63 years, Roy A. “Ace” Myers in June 2001; a granddaughter, Alice Birch; a son-in-law, Donald Woods; two brothers; and five sisters.
Private visitation and funeral ceremonies have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Private interment will be made at Forks Zion Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
