It is with great sadness that the family of Frances J. Nigra announces her death on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Frances was a 1945 graduate of Leechburg High School and then attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh.  For over 50 years, she was employed by P.P.G. Industries in Creighton before retiring January 31, 1996.  She was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township.

Frances was a soft-spoken, kind woman who lived with dignity and purpose.  She valued her independence as she aged gracefully, proudly driving herself and her sister wherever they needed to go, well into her 90s.  She was an avid golfer and was on a bowling league team with her sister Mary.  She also liked to take occasional bus trips to the casinos and enjoyed playing cards.  Always impeccably dressed, she took pride in her appearance.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Nigra, with whom she shared her home; and numerous cousins.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Nigra and Mary (Zana) Nigra; her sisters, Lucy Nigra in 2006, Sylvia Nigra in 2010; and brother, John Nigra in 2011.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, where Parting Prayers of Transfer will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. Christopher Pujol as celebrant.  Private interment will be held at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
