Eleanor (Vodzak) Steffanina, 95, formerly of Allegheny Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Remington Senior Living in Pittsburgh.

A daughter of the late Anthony Vodzak and Mary (Vida) Vodzak, she was born in North Vandergrift, PA, in 1929.

Eleanor had first been employed by the Sweetlane Chocolate Shop in Vandergrift in her early years.  She then worked at Federal Labs in Saltsburg from which she retired.  She was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Hyde Park and currently of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township, where she participated in many church activities.  She was a lifetime member of the Victorian Vandergrift Museum & Historical Society.  Eleanor was actively involved with the East Vandergrift Senior Center; and took frequent senior citizen bus trips to the casinos.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially playing cards (including spirited rounds of “65” and “Phase 10”).

Survivors include her son, Ron Steffanina (Kimberle) of Ross Township; two daughters, Valerie Bailey (Dennis) of Jefferson Hills, Amy Flowers (Harry) of Bethel Park; seven grandchildren, Amanté Steffanina (Chelsea), Mario Steffanina (Laura), Melissa Bailey (Zach Cooper), Justine Bailey (partner Christopher Varjas), Ethan Bailey, AJ Flowers, Brody Flowers; five great-grandchildren, Lucenzo, Nova, Giuseppe, Ottavio and Elio Steffanina; brother, Dr. Louis Vodzak (Dr. Betty) of Sarver; sister-in-law, Maryann Steffanina; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Raymond O. Steffanina in December 2020; siblings, Anthony Vodzak, Cyril Vodzak, Teresa Paunovich, Anna Mae Chruscik.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Leechburg (Gilpin Township), with the Rev. Alan N. Polczynski as celebrant.  Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Township.
