Edward James Sluka Sr., 74, of Gilpin Township, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A son of the late John Joseph Sluka and Mary T. (Fassio) Sluka, he was born September 17, 1951, in New Kensington, PA.

Edward was a 1970 graduate of Leechburg High School.  He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  Edward had been employed on the night preparation crew by Giant Eagle on the Northside of Pittsburgh for many years; and had also worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel in West Leechburg for a time.  He enjoyed coin collecting, watching movies, attending football games, and listening to oldies music.

He is survived by his brother, John R. Sluka (Judy) of Gilpin Township.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Edward J. Sluka Jr.
