Dorothy M. (Mottura) Garda, 91, of Parks Township (Vandergrift), PA, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Concordia of Cabot.

A daughter of the late Felix Mottura and Josephine (Barcelino) Mottura, she was born October 24, 1932, in Leechburg, Armstrong County, PA.

Dorothy was a homemaker and wonderful cook.  She found a special joy in feeding family and friends.  Cookies and ravioli were her specialty, and she was extremely meticulous about their preparation.  Visiting the casino and trips to Vegas were something she enjoyed as well as a good game of bocce.  She was a member of Christ the King Church in Gilpin Township and the Marconi Club in Leechburg.

Dorothy is survived by four sons, Dominic P. Garda (Deborah) of Columbus, OH, Phillip E. Garda (Marcie) of Cincinnati, OH, Michael A. Garda (Darryl Cook) of Columbus, OH and Martin J. Garda (Maureen) of Lower Burrell, PA; a daughter, Lisa J. Mathews (Thomas) of Pittsburgh; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dominic J. Garda in 2017; six siblings, Mary Soulier, Lena Mostachetti, Tony Mottura, Lucy Odasso, Raymond Mottura, and Peter Mottura.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, at Christ The King Church, 125 Park Road in Gilpin Township, with the Rev. Alan N. Polczynski as celebrant.  Interment will be held at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
