Doris V. (McElfresh) Waldenville

Doris V. (McElfresh) Waldenville, 86, of Vandergrift, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in her residence.

A daughter of the late Arthur Ralph McElfresh and Zela Ruth (Johnson) McElfresh, she was born March 16, 1936 in Gilpin Township, Armstrong County, PA.

Doris was a graduate of Leechburg High School and a homemaker.  Since 1958, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leechburg, where she was a Sunday school teacher and choir member.  Doris was a good singer and sang many duets with her husband.  She enjoyed working puzzles and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Chauncey R. Waldenville of Vandergrift; a daughter, Lori Gaile Cooley (Steve) of Diamond Head, Mississippi; a granddaughter, Christina Virginia Hope Cooley; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Loran, Ward and Merle McElfresh; two sisters, Norabell Wolfe and Hazel Cribbs.

There will be no public visitation or funeral ceremonies at this time.  A memorial service will be held at her church at a later date.  The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051 has been entrusted with private arrangements.
