Doris Mae (Richardson) Odasso, 97, of North Huntingdon, formerly of West Leechburg, PA, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.
A daughter of the late William Richardson and Dorothy (Vogel) Richardson Rarie, she was born May 28, 1924, in Leechburg, PA.
Doris was a 1942 graduate of Leechburg Area High School. She had been employed as a payroll clerk with Hick Coal Interest of Leechburg for 19 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of Christ The King Parish in Gilpin Township and former social member of the West Leechburg Volunteer Firemen’s Club. Doris enjoyed bingo and going to the casinos, shopping sprees for shoes, jewelry and purses, and spending time with her family, especially at the cabin in the mountains. Another favorite pastime for her was dancing with her husband to the music of the Dick Tady Polka Band, of which they were past fan club members.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Richard P. Odasso of North Huntingdon; two sons, Gary Odasso (Rachel) of Rio Rancho, NM, Chris Odasso (Roberta) of White Oak; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a stepsister, Helen Warnick of West Leechburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Miskinis (Walter); and stepsisters, June Sciullo and Gertrude Zedick.
Friends will be welcomed by her family on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. as celebrant. Interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Township.
