Donald E. Leach, 91, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, in his residence.

A son of the late Jesse Leon Leach and Fay Lucille (Hamlin) Leach, he was born August 25, 1932 in Boise, Idaho.

Donald had been employed as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. Local #596 Union in Clarksburg, WV for over 40 years before retiring in 1994.  During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Air Force.  Donald was a member of the Kiski Valley Bible Church in Allegheny Township.  He was an avid coin collector who enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bowling, and spending his time outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Adelia Ann (Stripling) Leach of Gilpin Township; his daughters, Mary Belinda Grantz (Barney) of Florida, Adelia Bender (Steve) of Pennsylvania, Lorraine Nolen (Rodney) of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

His family would like to thank his loving “extra” daughter, Nancy Knepshield, for her steadfast loving care of Donald.  They would also like to thank his personal caregivers and Heritage Hospice for their support and kindness during their time with Donald.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers and three sisters.

Friends will be welcomed by his family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies beginning at 2 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with Spiritual Leader Billie Harlan officiating.  Military rites will follow conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.  Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
