Donald E. Aber Obituary

Donald E. Aber, 85, of Hyde Park, was reunited with the love of his life Kathleen, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in his residence.


A son of the late Herbert E. Aber and Irene (Scott) Aber, he was born April 1, 1939 in Hyde Park, PA.


Donald had been employed as an accountant by Hyde Park Foundry & Machine Company for 33 years before retiring in 1993.  He was an U.S. Army Veteran and member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg.  He enjoyed going to breakfast and lunch with his friends, gardening, doing lawn work, walking, traveling, and being with his close companion (dog), Fritz.


Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Mulholland (Milton) of Brentwood, Jennifer Mitchell (Lee) of Vandergrift; grandchildren, Jonathan Aber, Ryan Hall (Taylor), Brendan Mulholland, Katelyn Hall, Logan Mulholland and Nathan Daugherty; two great-grandchildren, Harper and Jace Aber, with one on the way; a brother, Kenneth Aber (Rita) of Murrysville; close friend, Richard Magness of Kiski Township; and numerous cousins.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen (Kepple) Aber; and an infant son, Dennis Aber.


Friends will be welcomed by his family on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.  Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 358 Main Street, Leechburg, with the Rev. James V. Arter III officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.


In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donald are suggested to the Abiding Gifts and Memorial Fund at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
