Domenic L. Guido

Domenic L. Guido, 68, of Leechburg, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, in his residence

The son of the late Lewis P. Guido and Elaine (Stevens) Guido, he was born July 8, 1952, in Natrona Heights.

Domenic graduated from Leechburg High School prior to attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) graduating with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics, and then a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed as a high school mathematics teacher, beginning his teaching career at Mountaineer High School, in Elkins, W.Va., before coming to Leechburg High School to teach math and coach football and basketball. He was also the math team coach and remained active in school activities long after his retirement in 2008. Before retiring, he served as the treasurer of the Leechburg Education Association

Domenic was a member of the Hungarian Club, in Georgetown, Pa., and an active volunteer at the Leechburg Pool. He enjoyed attending Jimmy Buffett concerts and was an avid West Virginia and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most days he could be seen running around town in his truck with his buddy, Rudy. He was also an avid cyclist, who liked fishing, skiing and going to his camp with the "camp crew."

Survivors include his sister, Laureen G. Wylie (Craig), of Columbia, Md.; his stepmother, Angeline C. Guido, of Leechburg; and many close friends.

Friends will be welcomed by his family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, followed immediately by Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. James H. Loew, OSB, as celebrant. Private interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township. All visitors are required to respect current state guidelines by wearing masks/face coverings, and following social distancing and gathering restrictions. The Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg (724-842-1051) has been entrusted with arrangements.
