Della M. (Hartman) Ignatz, 85, of Gilpin Township, PA, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Concordia in Cabot.

A daughter of the late Lloyd “Bear” Hartman and Ruth (Riffer) Hartman, she was born on November 26, 1939, in Cochrans Mills, PA.

Delta had been employed as a cafeteria worker by Leechburg Area High School.  She was of the Catholic faith.  Della enjoyed playing bingo, sitting on her porch, reading, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, cooking for and spending time with all her family, especially for the holidays.

Survivors include her son, John Ignatz (Becky) of West Leechburg; her daughter, Janice Rutledge (Curtis) of Gum Spring, VA; five grandchildren, Matt, Shawn, Greg, Amanda, Nathan; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carol Lorent (Wayne) of Apollo; Doris Burkett of North Vandergrift, Nancy Shellhammer of Leechburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ignatz; sons, Joseph Ignatz and James E. “Jim” Ignatz.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, where funeral ceremonies will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 26, with the Rev. James V. Arter III officiating.  Interment following at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Della may be made to the Gilpin Township Vol. Fire Dept., 113 Firehall Rd., Leechburg, PA 15656.
